Connect Meta Ads

Create a system user in your Meta Business Manager and generate an access token so EcomClaw can manage your ad campaigns.

Step 1 — Create a Meta app

  1. Open your Business Manager Settings and go to Accounts → Apps.
  2. Click Add, then Create a new app ID.
  3. Enter an app name (e.g. “EcomClaw Agent”) and your email, then click Next.

Step 2 — Select use cases

Use cases determine which permissions are available when you generate the access token later. Select all of the following:

  • Create & manage ads with Marketing API
  • Measure ad performance data with Marketing API
  • Capture & manage ad leads with Marketing API
  • Create & manage app ads with Meta Ads Manager
  • Manage everything on your Page

If you skip any, certain permissions won’t appear when generating the token. It’s better to enable more than you need.

Step 3 — Connect your business & create

  1. Select your Business Portfolio (your Business Manager).
  2. Click through Requirements and Overview, then hit Create app.

Step 4 — Create a system user

  1. In Business Manager Settings, go to Users → System users.
  2. Click Add, enter a name (e.g. “ecomclaw”), set the role to Admin, and click Create system user.

Step 5 — Assign assets

Select the system user, click the menu → Assign assets, and give Full Control for each of the following:

  • Apps — select the app you just created
  • Ad accounts — select your ad account(s)
  • Facebook pages — select all your pages
  • Datasets / Pixels — select your pixel
  • Instagram accounts — if you run Instagram ads

Select as many assets as possible to avoid permission issues down the line.

Step 6 — Generate an access token

  1. Select the system user and click Generate token.
  2. Choose the app you created (e.g. “EcomClaw Agent”).
  3. Set token expiration to Never.
  4. Select all available permissions and click Continue.
  5. Meta may send a confirmation code via email — enter it if prompted.
  6. Copy the token immediately — it is only shown once.

Step 7 — Find your ad account ID

  1. In Business Manager Settings, go to Accounts → Ad accounts.
  2. Click your ad account — the ID is shown at the top of the detail panel.

Send to EcomClaw

Send both your access token and ad account ID to your EcomClaw bot on Telegram. The bot will validate and store them securely.

Important: Never share your access token with anyone else. It gives full access to your Meta ad account and pages.
